Barton Peveril Sixth Form College has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the local community by donating hundreds of toys and gifts to SCRATCH Charity this festive season. For the past five years, this ongoing partnership has brought joy to children and families facing hardship.
SCRATCH (Southampton City Regions Action to Combat Hardship) is a registered charity that assists individuals and families affected by poverty across Hampshire.
Ann Laird, Chair of the board of SCRATCH shares:
Just last week I was chatting to a long-term volunteer for SCRATCH’s Christmas Complete project and we both remarked on how the quality of our toy/gift parcels had improved hugely over the years. That improvement is largely due to supporters like Barton Peveril, who unfailingly provide us with the kind of gift resources we need to make many children’s and young people’s Christmas as special as we’d like for our own families.

Jan Frost, Vice Principal of Students and Progress, says:
Barton Peveril staff and students are, once again, honoured to support Scratch, a fantastic charity that helps local families celebrate Christmas despite difficult times. We are grateful for the opportunity to assist Scratch in their mission and are continually impressed by their dedication and impact.
The recent donation drive reflects the College’s dedication to fostering a culture of giving back and social responsibility among its students and staff.
The Hampshire-based college is proud to support community initiatives that positively impact the lives of Southampton residents and looks forward to continuing this partnership with SCRATCH in the years to come.
