Barton Peveril Sixth Form College held its Autumn Chamber Music Concert at the Rose Theatre on the 26th November, showcasing a variety of performances.

The concert displayed the exceptional standard of the college’s A-Level Music cohort and chamber ensembles. The breadth of talent on display reflects Barton Peveril’s status as a major centre for the performing arts in the region; the department currently boasts 70 students studying A-Level Music, another 75 studying A-Level Music Technology, and 60 enrolled on the Popular Music Performance Diploma.
The evening consisted of a diverse programme featuring the Brass Ensemble, String Quartet, and 50-strong Chamber Choir, alongside performances by Year 2 soloists.

Reflecting on the evening, David Coggins, Subject Leader for Music A-Level, expressed his pride in the students’ development:
I am incredibly proud of the standard achieved by our A-Level Music students and ensembles last night. This concert serves as a vital platform for them as they work towards their final performance recitals later in the year. With many of our musicians currently preparing for competitive auditions at leading conservatoires, the poise, technical skill, and musicality they demonstrated on stage is a testament to their dedication and a promising sign of their future success.”
