Barton Peveril Sixth Form College is delighted to announce that 15 students from the 2024–2026 cohort have secured prestigious places at the world’s most renowned music conservatoires. This outstanding achievement sees Barton Peveril musicians getting offers from the UK’s most elite conservatoires, including the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal Northern College of Music, the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, the Royal Scottish Conservatoire, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and Trinity Laban Conservatoire.

The cohort has achieved a remarkable level of success, amassing 30 offers in total. Many individuals received multiple offers from the country’s most selective institutions, setting a new benchmark for artistic excellence at Barton Peveril.

Bryan Postlethwaite, Director of Performing Arts, commented:

“We are absolutely thrilled for our students. The journey to a conservatoire place requires extraordinary dedication, and seeing fifteen of our musicians succeed on this national stage is wonderful. Our goal is to provide an environment that mirrors the professional world, and these results are a testament to the hard work, resilience, and passion of our students.”

Barton Peveril’s music provision is designed to support every kind of music student, offering a specialist, three-pronged pathway through A Level Music, Popular Music Performance, and Music Technology. Students benefit from a professional-grade environment, including the 250-seat Rose Theatre, two recording studios, and a dedicated rehearsal suite. Beyond the classroom, the multidisciplinary nature of the department allows musicians to gain unique experience, such as performing in the Pit Band for major musical theatre productions or joining the Session Orchestra.
