Barton Peveril Sixth Form College welcomed its newest students with a Freshers’ Fair on Thursday 19th September. This year’s event offered an exciting introduction to the diverse array of clubs, societies, and volunteering opportunities available to the students.
New students explored a range of stalls representing a variety of interests and causes, including the Christian Union, The Feminist Society, The Muslim Society, The Afro-Caribbean Society, and more.

By engaging and connecting with second-year students, first year students learned more about student life. The lively atmosphere was complemented by music, an outdoor indian-style BBQ and activities such as badminton and table tennis.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Committee Coordinator, Joanne Mather said:
The energy and enthusiasm at the Freshers’ Fair was contagious, with students eagerly joining clubs and societies, and some even expressing interest in starting new ones. A special spotlight goes to our ED&I clubs and societies for their fundraising efforts for Oxfam. Through the sale of baked goods, handmade jewellery, badges, and more, they raised an incredible £568.38!

Barton Peveril’s Freshers’ Fair has proven to be a resounding success, setting the stage for an enriching and fulfilling college experience for all new students.
ED&I Champion, Anisha Begum also said:
Seeing our students so engaged and excited about all the opportunities available to them was great. It’s a testament to the community we have here at Barton Peveril, and a reminder of the incredible potential these young individuals possess.
