
We’ve waited with baited breath and finally the votes are in – The Daily Echo’s Curtain Call Awards have nominated current and former Barton Peveril students for 11 awards this year.
After hours of debate, a panel of independent judges have decided on their favourite shows of this year in the amateur dramatics domain.
Our Performing Arts students and staff are thrilled with the nominations which are:
Les Misérables (Schools Edition) nominations
- Best director of a youth production – Gemma Watts
- Youth ensemble award – Les Misérables (Schools Edition)
- Best actor in a youth production – Jack Shaw-Downie as Jean Valjean
- Best supporting actor in a youth production – George Lambourne as Marius
- Best Supporting actress in a youth production – Felicia Gray as Eponine
Other nominations:
- Best actor in a musical – James Taylor as Eddie Birdlace in Dogfight (Music Theatre South)
- Best actor in a musical – James Taylor as Roger in Rent (Music Theatre South)
- Best actress in youth production- Ella Williams as Christina in Phantom of the Opera (Centrestage Productions Youth Theatre)
- Best actress in youth production – Louisa Morgan as Babe in the Pyjama Game (RicNic)
- Best actor in youth production – Sam Wood as Fagin in Oliver (Mayflower Summer Youth Project)
- Best supporting actress in a musical – Jade Nicholas as Maureen in Rent (Music Theatre South)
The nominees will now have to wait until Friday January 29 to see if their name is inside the winning golden envelope – good luck to all of our nominees!
