A Cheer-Tastic Achievement for Natalya

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College is thrilled to celebrate the achievement of student Natalya Canoville, who has recently returned from a series of international cheerleading competitions with remarkable victories.

In February, Natalya competed in the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) competition in Texas, where her team, Shadow, secured an impressive first place. Demonstrating exceptional skill and teamwork, Natalya and her team continued their winning streak in Orlando at the Summit 2024 competition. Here, they not only claimed first place in their division but also earned the title of World Champions.

Shadow, part of Top Gun UK, delivered an extraordinary performance. It achieved a score of 99.63 out of 1,262 teams from around the globe, the highest score recorded over the four-day event.

Natalya, formerly of Wildern School, says:

I pursue cheerleading because I’ve been doing it since I was 5 years old, starting out at a local team. This team was like a family to me and helped me get to where I am today. I love cheerleading as it is like dance, gymnastics and stunting all in one, and you can work as a team.

The college has supported me with my sport as they were willing to adapt my timetable so I was able to get to training on time as I train in Worthing. Barton Peveril and my course teachers have been very supportive of my achievements.

The college congratulates Natalya and her team on their incredible accomplishments and looks forward to supporting her continued success.
