Winning Team

The team representing Barton Peveril Sixth Form College in the FA People’s Cup are regional champions and will now compete in the final at England’s training ground, St George’s Park, in April.
The team won the South East Regional, held at Royal Holloway University on Monday 25th March, beating teams from throughout the region.
Finalists
The Barton Peveril team will now play against the winners of the seven other Regional competitions in the national final. The overall winners, of the competition at St. George’s Park, will be presented their trophy during half-time of the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.
The winning team consists of former Crestwood Community School pupil Lewis Crate, former Upper Shirley High School pupils Benny O’Farrell, Reece Reed and Toby Budd, former Applemore College pupil Jamie Ketley, former Henry Cort Community College pupil Joe Bull, and former Portchester Community School pupil Matthew Corless.
Barton Peveril’s Director of Sport, Luke Hampton, said:
“We’re all really proud of the team for their well-deserved achievement. It’s amazing that they can now compete in the final round of a very competitive, national competition at St. George’s Park.”
One of the team’s players, Lewis Crate, commented on their victory:
“We played as a team and won as a team, it is great to go onto the next round!”
