Barton Peveril Perform for the National Theatre

National Theatre Connections 2019

Barton Peveril students have taken part in National Theatre Connections 2019. Second year Performing Arts: Acting students performed Chaos, a play written by Laura Lomas and commissioned especially for the Connections showcase, twice in the College’s Rose Theatre and then in Bognor Regis’ Alexandra Theatre.

National Theatre Connections sees students from throughout the country perform one of 10 plays commissioned for the showcase. A representative from the National Theatre watches every performance. The representative then selects one version of each play for a performance at the National Theatre in London, during the summer.

Speaking on the competition and students, Barton Peveril Subject Leader of Performing Arts Steven Wilde said: “The students have explored and developed the characters and scenes themselves. The quality of their work is a testament to how hard they have worked and how much they have learned during their time at Barton Peveril.”
