Barton Peveril Student Constructs His Career

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College student Elliott Johnson

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College student Elliott Johnson has secured a Degree Apprenticeship in Project Management Consultancy with Mace Group. Degree Apprenticeships are amongst the most selective and competitive progression routes for College leavers in the country.

Mace Group Ltd, commonly known as Mace, is a global consultancy and construction firm headquartered in London, United Kingdom, employing approximately 5,000 people, across five continents with a turnover in excess of £2 billion.

Johnson, who previously attended The Mountbatten School, secured the Degree Apprenticeship after a stringent application process. The College student submitted a written application, underwent a telephone interview, and took part in an assessment centre to earn his place. The student’s success in the assessment centre was enhanced as it was his first attempt at an assessment centre, which are notoriously competitive.

Johnson was helped every step of the way by the Careers Department at Barton Peveril, who offered application support and interview practice sessions to guide him towards success.

“I’m very excited”

Speaking on his success, Elliott Johnson said:

“I wanted to pursue a Degree Apprenticeship so that I could gain experience and continue my education at the same time. I’m very excited but it’s not hit me yet that I’ve been successful!”
