Barton Peveril Sixth Form College student, Ethan Ford, has had his graphic work selected to be the new Hampshire Hospitals Heart Centre logo, after winning Studio Four Architects’ graphics competition!
Studio Four Architects opened the short, two week competition to Barton Peveril students, to give them the opportunity to respond to a live brief quickly and get their work published. The brief being to design a logo for the new Cath Lab building at Basingstoke Hospital, named “Hampshire Hospitals Heart Centre”.
Ethan, a current Second Year student, entered the competition with five strong designs after hearing about it from the subject lead for Graphic Communication. More than 30 students studying Graphics entered the competition.
The former Swanmore College pupil’s winning design will now be featured on the side of the building and across all their branded materials. He will also receive a £100 amazon voucher reward.
He and the Barton Peveril Graphics Team will be invited to the hospital in September for a presentation, a tour of the unit, and a meet and greet of the Cardiac Team.
Speaking on Ford’s success, Sarah Talling, Subject Leader of Graphic Communication, said:
“We are so pleased for him and very proud of this fantastic achievement. We can’t wait to show off Ethan’s work to future students looking to take Graphics.”
Speaking on his own success, Ethan commented:
“As this was the first competition I have ever entered before I was extremely happy to find out I had won. No matter what subject you study, if an opportunity comes your way, take it. Don’t be scared just to try!”
