Barton Peveril Student Earns England Place
Barton Peveril Sixth Form College student Grace Palmer has received a call-up for the England Women’s Under 17 Football Squad.
Palmer, who plays club football for Southampton Football Club Women, was selected to participate in a training camp for the Lionesses’ Under 17 squad after a series of footballing accomplishments for club and country.
The first year Barton Peveril student, who previously attended Crestwood Community School, has represented England since the age of 14. Palmer played her first international game against Switzerland in 2019 and has since represented her country on multiple occasions, playing in matches against Denmark, Spain, and the United States of America.
The central midfielder will now join her fellow Under 17 England Women’s teammates in the training camp at England’s bespoke training facility, St. George’s Park, between 29th October and 2nd November. The training camp is a lead up to squad selection for the upcoming UEFA European Women’s Championship taking place later this season.

Grace Palmer commented on her achievement:
“I’m proud to have been selected for the camp and I am looking forward to getting back to training at St. George’s Park. It’s a great opportunity to get the highest level coaching.”
