“Barton Peveril students have worked brilliantly hard in very challenging circumstances”

Speaking on the success of this year’s students, Barton Peveril Principal, Jonathan Prest, said:
‘Barton Peveril students have worked brilliantly hard in very challenging circumstances to achieve better results than even our record breaking year of 2019. This year, 99.68% of our A Level entries passed with 34% of grades at A or A* and nearly 62% of grades A*-B. Students taking vocational qualifications had equally outstanding outcomes.
‘It is important to remember that grades this year were not calculated by some algorithm but that students had to demonstrate to their teachers that their work reached the exam board criteria. I would like to extend my congratulations to the students who have worked so hard, their families and friends who helped them with the pressure of studying over the past 18 months, and of course my amazing colleagues who have pushed out the boat for their students like never before!
‘There is no doubt that the qualifications of Barton students will have real and comparable value with those from previous years, and no cohort of students has ever faced so much challenge as the students graduating from College this summer.’
Speaking on his results, student Dexter Sayers said:
‘It’s been an extremely difficult year for all students, but we have all persevered and shown resilience. I’m pleased with my results and I hope other students are pleased too!’
Ella Clarke, who also received her results this year, added:
‘I want to thank Barton, my teachers, friends and family, who have supported me so much throughout this tough year and without whom I would not have got the results I have received. I’m very grateful and excited for my future!’
