Barton Peveril Students Help South East to Victory

Barton Peveril students helped the South East Region’s Colleges win the Wilkinson Sword in the Association of Colleges (AoC) Sport Championship, held at the University of Nottingham on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April 2019.

The Barton Peveril students represented colleges in the South East at Table Tennis and Rugby, competing amongst 1700 students in 13 different sports.

This is the third consecutive year the South East Region have won the Championship. The winning region beat the South West and West Midlands Regions, who finished second and third respectively.

Speaking on the Barton Peveril students’ part in the victory, Barton Peveril Director of Sport Luke Hampton said:

“We’re all very proud of the Barton Peveril students who were part of the South East region’s victory in the Association of Colleges Championship, they continually compete at such a high level in and out of college competitions.”

Barton Peveril student William Poulter, who formerly attended The Mountbatten School and represented the South East’s Colleges in Table Tennis, said:

“It was an unbelievable experience and I feel very proud to have been part of the winning South East team. Being the number one player and winning the national title felt amazing. It felt surreal ending the day as a national champion.”
