Barton Peveril Sixth Form College students Nat Beverley-Smith and Jacob Bradley have been shortlisted for the English and Media Centre (EMC) Production Competition 2023.
The production competition is a student-focused content competition held every year by the English and Media Centre, receiving work from students across the UK. The judging team decides on a shortlist of entries which are then organised into categories. The creators of which are invited to a showcase and awards ceremony at the British Film Institute (BFI) building on London Southbank.
Nat Beverley-Smith, formerly of Fareham Academy, speaks on his achievement:
“I’m really excited to be shortlisted as I’ve never been to the BFI building before, and as a new & emerging video content creator, I’m looking forward to meeting new people with the same passion and getting the chance to network. I’m also really pleased that a piece of coursework I’m personally very proud of is getting recognised and watched by a wider audience!”
Jacob Bradley former student of Crofton School, also says:
“This is a great end to the academic year by showcasing a piece of work which I’m very proud of. I didn’t think I was going to be shortlisted for this amazing opportunity which was shown to me by my Media teacher on our Google stream. Without them showing me the link I would have never done it. When my Media teacher was talking about this opportunity for students like me at College it felt like a place which really accepted people my age and took them seriously which is why I wished to participate”
Students will receive the opportunity to view their creative work and celebrate their achievements on the 3rd July at the BFI building, London Southbank.
