Barton Peveril Teacher Rows for Charity

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College Subject Leader of Textiles Lorna Miller

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College Subject Leader of Textiles, Lorna Miller, completed a five hour rowing challenge to raise money for Prevent Breast Cancer on Wednesday 9th March 2022.

The Subject Leader rowed a total of 54.1 kilometres over the course of the five hour straight rowing challenge, which took place on a Concept 2 indoor rowing machine in the College’s state-of-the-art gym. So far, the Hampshire-based College’s teacher has raised over £500 for the charity.

This is not the first time Lorna Miller has undertaken a challenge for charity. In 2020, Miller used Battle Ropes continuously for one hour to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

“Looking forward to finding another challenge!”

Speaking on the event, Lorna Miller said:

“I set myself a physical endurance challenge to use the bit of fitness I have to raise money for Prevent Breast Cancer, the charity solely dedicated to predicting, preventing and protecting our future generations from breast cancer.

“I’m glad to finally get off the Concept 2, grateful for all the support and belief friends, family and my students had in me to do it, it’s what kept me digging deep to keep going. Looking forward to finding another challenge!”
