Current Barton Peveril student Donel Mangena is a contestant on this year’s The Voice and will be competing in the live final this Saturday, at 8.30pm on ITV.

The 16 year old former pupil of St. George Catholic College, Southampton, impressed judges in the ‘Blind Audition’ with his version of Major Lazer’s Cold Water, convincing all four to turn their chairs before deciding to join Team Will. The Barton Peveril student’s Grandmother then stole the show, as she took to the stage and danced in celebration at her Grandson’s achievement. Donel has since made it through both the ‘Battle Round’, the ‘Knockout Round,’ and the ‘semi-final’ to earn his place in the live final.

Speaking on Donel’s success, Barton Peveril Principal Jonathan Prest said:

“It is always fantastic to see Barton Peveril students thrive in something they are passionate about, at the highest level. Donel is a very talented young man and we wish him the best of luck on Saturday night.”

Public Vote

Donel is now relying purely on the public vote. If he successfully impresses viewers at home, he has the chance to win the competition overall in the live final. We wish Donel the best of luck in the next stage of the competition!
