Barton Peveril Win Hampshire Rugby Bowl

The Barton Peveril Sixth Form College Rugby Team have won the Hampshire Rugby Bowl, for the second consecutive year. The College Team beat Havant and South Downs College to retain the title, at Havant RFC on Wednesday 5th February 2020.
The Barton Peveril players competed in a series of seven matches to earn their place in the final against Havant and South Downs College, who they beat 45-0. Students Ben Griffin and Ben Powell, previously of Housndown School and The Hamble School, were Playmakers of the Match in a team captained by The Henry Cort Community College alum Alfie Turner.
“Really impressed”
Speaking on their success in the Bowl, Barton Peveril Director of Sport Luke Hampton said:
“We’re really impressed with the team’s effort in the tournament. They deserved to retain the title for the second consecutive year after after putting in a lot of hard work on and off the pitch, showcasing their talent and determination to win.”
Student Tom Ritchie, formerly of Fareham Academy, spoke on the team’s victory after the match:
“Success is something you work hard for, it never comes easy.”
