Barton Peveril’s Choral Christmas Concert

Choral Concert

Barton Peveril students performed in a Choral Concert at Romsey Abbey on Tuesday 4th December. The students were conducted by Alexander L’Estrange and performed his award-winning composition Wassail! Carols of Comfort and Joy in front of a large audience.

The College students performed alongside Wyvern Community Choir and local school pupils from The Mountbatten School, Wyvern College and Crestwood Community School.

Speaking before the concert, the Composer and Conductor Alexander L’Estrange said:

“I’m really excited about working with students from Barton Peveril Sixth Form College for this performance of “Wassail!”. I love sharing the joy of music and singing, and it will also be a privilege to perform in the stunning Romsey Abbey.”

First year student Maddie Penfold, formerly of The Mountbatten School, said:

“Everyone really enjoyed the workshops with Alexander and getting to perform his music alongside the other choirs and the band.”

Barton Peveril Teacher of Music Gary Williams said:

“We are delighted that Alexander L’Estrange was able to join us for our performance of Wassail. It provided an invaluable opportunity for our students to work with an award-winning composer.”
