Barton Peveril Footballers Claim 7-a-side Title
Barton Peveril Sixth Form College have won the Men’s Association of Colleges (AoC) Regional 7-a-side Football Tournament.
The team, which consists of players across the College’s numerous football squads, have now qualified for the National AoC 7-a-side Finals in April.
The Barton Peveril Team beat all of their opponents in the group stage of the tournament: East Sussex College, Haywards Heath College, Brighton, Hove & Sussex Sixth Form College, Peter Symonds College and Richard Taunton Sixth Form College.
The Team then beat Chichester College in the semi-final and Worthing College in the final. The Team did not concede a single goal in the tournament.
Speaking on their success, Barton Peveril Subject Leader for Sport and Coach of the Team, Daniel Jones, said:
“The 12 that took part demonstrated what can be achieved through hard work and determination as several key players were unavailable through injury. We can now look forward to competing amongst the ten best colleges from across the UK at the National Finals in April.”
