Barton Peveril’s Higher Education Fair

Higher Education Fair

Wyvern College pupils George and Lydia with representatives from the University of Chichester.

Barton Peveril welcomed over 80 Universities to its annual Higher Education Fair, before hosting a Question and Answer Panel with a select group of University representatives. Pupils from Wildern School, Thornden School, Wyvern College and Brookfield Community School also attended the fair.

Students had the opportunity to meet with all the Universities, to find out more about Higher Education and their options after College during the fair. Representatives from the University of Cambridge, University of Southampton, University of Portsmouth, University of Exeter and University of Leeds then answered questions from students in the Question and Answer Panel, on a range of topics from course fees to student life.

Planning for the future

Speaking on the event, Gavin Quinn from the University of Glasgow said:

“It’s great to meet students from this part of the country. We’ve attended this event for a couple of years now and love to see how engaged the students always are!”

Katie Bruce, from Wyvern College, also commented on the event:

“This is really useful for students to start thinking about options early on, before college, so they can make the right choice the first time.”

This event will be followed by the Futures Fair, were Employers, Gap Year Organisations and Apprenticeship Providers will visit the College to talk to students about other options after College.
