Barton Peveril Sixth Form College students Leon Baker and Robbie Lee have collectively won seven medals across two competitions, representing Great Britain in Diving competitions in the United Kingdom and abroad.

The students competed in the British Junior National Diving Championships between 13th and 16th April, where Baker won two gold medals and one silver medal on the springboard whilst Lee became the British National Champion for Group A Boys 10m platform.

Both students, who benefit from the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) at the College, qualified for the Bergen International Diving Championships in Norway that took place between 27th and 29th April. Baker (formerly of The Romsey School) secured two further gold medals at the international event, whilst Lee (formerly of The King’s School, Fair Oak) secured a gold medal to add to his tally. During the event, fellow Barton Peveril student Ollie Cazaly (formerly of The Romsey School) and Nathan Bull (formerly of Wyvern College) each secured a bronze medal for Great Britain whilst Maya Kutty (formerly of St. Anne’s Catholic School) earned a gold medal for her country.

Leon Baker and Robbie Lee have both qualified for the Commonwealth Games squad trials in Sheffield, which are set to take place on 26th and 27th May. Both students are hoping to represent Great Britain, at the springboard and 10m board respectively, at the Commonwealth Games in July.
