Barton Peveril’s STEM Day

Local Schools

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College hosted its annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Day last Friday 14th December, for pupils from Brookfield Community School, Crestwood Community School, The Hamble School, The Toynbee School, Wildern School, Wyvern College, The Mountbatten School and The Romsey School.

The 105 school pupils had a range of workshops throughout the day, led by teachers at Barton Peveril, in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics and Maths; each of the workshops offered an interactive and thought-provoking look at areas beyond the school curriculum.

Barton Peveril Director of Science Nathan Cheung commented on the success of the day:

“It was great to see so many engaged students getting stuck in with their workshops, helping each other out and asking intelligent questions. Days like these are really important because it awakens and nurtures a love of the STEM subjects for young people.”
