They’re the buskers whose smooth sounds turned an 87-year-old dancer into an overnight online sensation.
Barton Peveril music students Cally Jones and Jake Baker-Menage were busking in Winchester High Street when their Frank Sinatra cover got the spritely pensioner’s toes tapping.
The feel-good moment was shared on social media and retired delivery driver Ronald Burgess is now enjoying unprecedented interest in his impromptu pavement performances from locals, tourists and the media.
“Ron’s a Winchester legend,” said Cally, who has been playing sax on the city’s streets for three years.
Jake agreed: “He’s such a lovely chap, always up for a chat. It’s a great story!”
