Hampshire students filled Romsey Abbey with Christmas Carols at their annual Choral Concert this week.
Students from Barton Peveril, The Romsey School and Wyvern College have been rehearsing for months to put on a spectacular performance from their choirs. The performances included Karl Jenkins’ Joy to the World, Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols and Benjamin Brittens’ Ceremony of Carols to celebrate the festive season.
Gary Williams, Teacher of Music at Barton Peveril said: “As well as showcasing our college choral talents in the beautiful acoustic of Romsey Abbey, we are privileged to perform alongside the wonderful community and chamber choirs of Wyvern and The Romsey School.”
After the performances, the audience were encouraged to join in the congregational carol of ‘O come, all ye faithful’ to conclude the evening.
