Barton Peveril Sixth Form College welcomes new Health and Wellbeing Student Mentors.
The Health and Wellbeing team offer a variety of professional support at college, including one-off sessions, regular appointments and group sessions covering topics such as managing anxiety and exam stress. Barton Peveril seeks to support students manage health and fitness, develop skills and interests and contribute to the community as well as prepare students for their options after college.
Students will have the opportunity to sign up for a variety of activities and workshops such as Yoga and Mindfulness sessions to support the balance between personal life and college studies.
Barton Peveril Student Wellbeing Mentors are students who will receive skills after the training programme to engage with other students who require a supportive conversation and support with regards to college and exam support. During their tenure, Student Mentors will be able to identify anxiety management, emotional support and safeguarding protocol.
Helen Cunliffe, College Counsellor says:
Previous students have said that having someone their own age that they are able to seek support from has helped them during their time at Barton.
Parent feedback:
Having student mentors to support during the first few days, have helped out my student massively with the transition from school to college process.
