Barton Peveril soul band ended the college year on a high note after being invited to perform at the prestigious Music for Youth National Festival in Birmingham.
The annual five day event brought together 8000 inspiring young musicians from schools and colleges throughout the UK. Barton Soul followed in the footsteps of the college choir and jazz band which have also performed at the Festival in recent years.
“It’s a tremendous accolade to be asked to perform at the National Festival and to see our soul band take the stage at Birmingham Town Hall was just fantastic,” said music course leader, Gary Williams.
“What makes these performances so special is that membership of Barton Peveril ensembles is open to all students, not just those studying music. The Soul Band had a great time and really did themselves and the college proud!”
