Hello all,
Cancellation of Year 11 Open Event on 22nd June 2021
It is with regret that we have to announce the cancellation of the Open Event we had planned for Tuesday 22nd June. Government guidelines for Further Education make clear that large, public open events such as this can only take place following the lifting of restrictions under phase 4 of the road map. The decision taken to delay phase 4 for a further four weeks means the event cannot go ahead.
New Parents’ Information Event on 22nd June 2021
I am pleased to confirm that this event will go ahead as planned. It is an online event with a recorded presentation and live Q & A. This event is aimed at parents and explains how the College supports students whilst they are with us. It explains that the College would like to work closely with parents whilst their child is at College and offers suggestions about how parents can be involved.
Year 11 Taster Days on 5th, 6th, or 7th July 2021
Unless the local situation changes for the worse, or government guidance changes, these events will go ahead since they are designed to help students with a smooth and supportive transition from school to college, following the completion of compulsory schooling on 30th June 2021.
Students who are invited to one of our taster days have all been interviewed by the College, have accepted an offer of a place, and have chosen their courses for next year. We consider them to be college students for the day, starting their sixth form education!
We will follow our risk assessment and ask students to follow a set of guidelines including social distancing and other mitigations such as face coverings being worn on buses and in communal areas inside.
Best wishes,
Jonathan Prest, Principal
