Shakespeare’s First Folio Comes to Barton Peveril Sixth Form College

As part of the 400th anniversary of the publication of William Shakespeare’s First Folio, Barton Peveril Sixth Form College English Extension students enjoyed a lecture from our colleagues at Winchester College. Dr Alex Latter from The Fellows’ Library brought one of the few surviving copies of the Folio, for students to explore and critique. This was a highly enjoyable and interactive session as part of the college’s Aspire programme and hugely beneficial to English Literature students who study ‘King Lear’ as part of our syllabus. Students will also be attending a lecture and dinner with Oxford University’s Professor Emma Smith to learn more about the most famous book in the English Language.
