Barton Peveril Sixth Form College students Nathan Richards, Rohan Wadhawan and Garam Lee have all participated in the Oxford University Computing Challenge (OUCC).

The OUCC is an invitation-only challenge designed to foster the development of computational thinking skills. Open exclusively to students who achieved a top 10% score in the UK Bebras Challenge, it drew participants from across the country to demonstrate their programming abilities.

In the preliminary Round 1 held in January, 15 students from Barton Peveril Sixth College were among the select few invited to compete from a pool of 1457 participants nationwide. After an intense round, the top 20 individuals were invited to the OUCC final round out of those in the initial round.

Former students of Wildern School, Nathan Richards and Rohan Wadhawan, formerly of Cantell School, achieved distinctions (top 5% of round 1). Garam Lee, formerly of Romsey School, resulted in claiming full scores and a secured place in the final round.

In the final competition held in March, Garam showcased his skill, completing all 12 programming tasks. His outstanding performance earned him the Elite National Finalist award, securing first place in the competition.
