The chance to find out more about what it means to study Chemistry at degree level is a popular option for A Level chemists attending twilight practical sessions at the University of Southampton.
The fun sessions are run by postgraduate students and offer students the chance to carry out a range of supervised practical techniques in state-of-the-art teaching laboratories.
Activities include extracting organic material from the common spice nutmeg, purifying it, and analysing results to measure the experiment’s success.
