Vishaan Vohra: Star of the Night

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College proudly congratulates one of its own, Vishaan Vohra, for being awarded the Star of the Night title at the film premiere and awards ceremony held at Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium.

The event, hosted by local radio personality Zoe Hanson, showcased the remarkable achievements of young researchers participating in LifeLab’s Young Researcher Training Programme and its Youth Panel. LifeLab, an educational initiative developed by the University of Southampton in collaboration with the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre and University Hospital Southampton, celebrates its upcoming 10th anniversary this summer, having already impacted over 15,000 students.

The premiere featured short films produced by the young researchers, addressing vital topics such as ethics, methods, and data analysis in research. These students brought complex concepts to life through their creativity and enthusiasm, demonstrating their passion for scientific inquiry.

The evening concluded with an awards ceremony, honouring the students’ research and communication skills, as well as their creativity. Among the winners was first year student Vishaan, who captivated the audience with his remarkable performance, earning praise for Best Drama Queen Moment and ultimately being crowned Star of the Night.

The former Cantell School student expressed gratitude to the University of Southampton and LifeLab for recognizing young talent and providing opportunities for personal growth and development.

Stepping onto the red carpet at LifeLab’s Celebrate the Stars event was a dream come true! Honoured to have claimed two awards! Thank you, University of Southampton and LifeLab for the initiative for the Young Researcher Training Program, and for recognising young talent and achievements.
