Zoe Fordham Completes London Marathon

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College alumna Zoe Fordham has successfully completed the London Marathon. Zoe’s academic journey at Barton Peveril included Art Graphic Communication, Art Textile Design, and Film Studies, followed by an Art and Design Foundation Diploma.

Diagnosed with Autism late into her time at Barton Peveril, Zoe received substantial support from the college and The National Autistic Society. This year, she conquered the challenge of the London Marathon, running to raise funds for the charity that significantly impacted her life.

Zoe expressed her motivation and gratitude, saying:

I decided to run the London Marathon to raise money for The National Autistic Society! Following my autism diagnosis a few years ago, I wanted to do this to prove to myself and others that I’m capable of anything when I set my mind to it and to thank a charity that helped me to understand myself in a new way.

Running the marathon was the toughest challenge I’ve ever taken on, but I couldn’t be prouder to have crossed the finish line. Seeing all the sights through London and hearing the supporters cheer from the sides was a truly incredible experience. Through my fundraising, I was able to raise over £2000 for The National Autistic Society. I’m so thankful to everyone who supported me and to have been given this opportunity through a charity full of incredible people.

Zoe is currently pursuing a degree in Fine Art at Kingston University.
