Welcome from the Principal

Dear Colleague

Thank you for your interest in applying to Barton Peveril Sixth Form College, judged by OFSTED to be outstanding across all four key judgements.

To work at Barton is to join an ambitious, vibrant and supportive community of colleagues who are amongst the most content and motivated staff working within the education sector.

We are looking for teachers and support staff who are committed to making the experience for students who study at Barton Peveril exceptional. You may already have a track record of excellent teaching and leadership. You may be an NQT, keen to bring the benefits of your recent training, your ideas and your enthusiasm to us and we will support you to develop your craft. You may be potential support staff with valuable skills and a commitment to working in education. Whatever your situation, we will expect you to get professional satisfaction from seeing students exceed their own expectations.

The College mission is not just to achieve the best exam results but it is to prepare students for a successful future, broaden their wider educational experiences and achievements, and support their development into positive members of an inclusive, diverse, modern, and competitive society.

We recognise that students will not realise their potential unless we ensure they feel safe, enjoy good health and well being, and develop the self-awareness and resilience to overcome obstacles.

Our successful candidates will almost certainly expect only the highest standards of themselves, their students and their colleagues. We do not expect perfection, but we do believe in constantly reflecting on how we might further develop our skills and, where appropriate, careers.

I hope you will be excited by the thought of joining Barton Peveril College. I very much look forward to receiving your application.

Yours sincerely

Rob Temple

Principal
