College Community Initiative

Barton Peveril College is collaborating with Two Saints to provide hot meals for those in need this Christmas.

Two Saints provide a day centre, supported accommodation, and specialist outreach to tackle homelessness and complex needs for vulnerable adults and young people.

Led by Joe Grassick, Head Chef, this initiative will support the charity’s Southampton Day Centre on four different occasions, aiming to feed between 160 and 240 people. Joe said, “It’s a genuine privilege to use the college’s catering capabilities to support the essential work Two Saints does. The generosity of our suppliers will also ensure hundreds of vulnerable people get a quality, hot festive meal during this time of year.”

Between 16th – 18th December, the College will cook and deliver a complete Christmas dinner for up to 60 people per day featuring roast turkey, gammon, all the trimmings, and mince pies.

Additional support is being provided in the days immediately before Christmas. On Tuesday 23rd December, the College will provide buffet food to support a special Christmas party event held by Two Saints. On Christmas Eve, suppliers of Barton Peveril – Flora, Quality Finish, Brakes, Bidfood, and Adams are donating to ensure Two Saints can host a full Christmas Eve dinner. Two Saints, which feeds 40-60 people daily on a limited budget, relies almost solely on donations. This collaboration provides a massive boost, ensuring clients receive high-quality, hot festive meals and potentially takeaway bags for the days following.
