Barton Peveril celebrated cultural diversity with its annual Culture Day on 16th October, 2025. The event, held as part of Black History Month, featured a variety of vibrant activities and events throughout the day.
Culture Day commenced with performances by Barton Peveril Dance Students, followed by captivating Bollywood Dancers. Throughout the event, students proudly presented their individual culture and heritage at dedicated stands.

These stands offered a diverse array of experiences, including food samples, henna art, hair braiding, origami, and the opportunity to learn how to write your name in Japanese. The Colourism Exhibition, a popular addition to this year’s Culture Day, was one of eight venues showcasing this exhibit.

ED&I Coordinator, Lisa Fernandez-Adams said:
“We are committed to ED&I at Barton Peveril, and Culture Day is a way to recognise and honour all of the diversity that enriches our college. By creating a safe space for students to share their traditions and experiences, we continue to build a more understanding and inclusive community.”

The Cultural Catwalk was a huge success. Students proudly expressed their cultures by showcasing incredible traditional outfits and flags as they walked down the catwalk. This part of the day was a firm favourite, uniting everyone and ending the event on a high note.

ED&I Coordinator, Alix Christopher said:
“Culture Day is such an amazing celebration of who we are at Barton Peveril as a community. It was great to see students come together, share their traditions, and really take the time to learn about each other’s cultures and backgrounds”
