Statement

New Principal

Barton Peveril College is delighted to announce that Nicola Carcone, currently Deputy Principal at the College, has been appointed as Principal. She will be taking on the role having worked in the College’s senior leadership team since 2016 and will be in post for the new academic year. She succeeds the current Principal, Rob Temple, who is leaving the college to work and live overseas.

The newly appointed Principal underwent a rigorous two day selection process and was up against a field of external candidates. The College stated that she “performed exceptionally well across all areas, confirming her clear suitability, capability and passion for the post”.

The College’s Chair of Governors, Alex Neill, said

I would like to thank Rob Temple for his outstanding contribution to the College during his 4 years as Principal. During his tenure the college was rated as Outstanding by Ofsted and is now ranked in the Department for Education’s performance tables as the best performing sixth form college in the region for its A levels and Level 3 vocational courses. We wish him well as he and his family explore new opportunities abroad.

Nicola Carcone is an outstanding Deputy Principal and will be an exceptional Principal. She has been an integral part of the College’s success and will be excellent at building on the strengths of the College and taking it forward into the next decade. Nicola is well known and highly respected by our stakeholders – governors, staff, students, parents, and schools. The Governing Body is delighted by this outcome and we look forward to a seamless transition in August.
