First year student Eve O’Neill has been named in the England squad for the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, set to take place in Malaysia in January 2025.

Eve is one of 15 talented young players selected to represent England in the second edition of this tournament. The squad, recently announced on the ECB website, will be looking to build on the success of the 2023 team, who finished as runners-up in the inaugural competition.

The former Hounsdown student says:

I’m absolutely delighted to be selected for the England U19 World Cup T20 squad. To be in this position is an honour and the result of hard work and the support from my clubs, schools and all the coaches over the years.

England are drawn in Group B alongside Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA. All group matches will be played in Johor, Malaysia. The tournament, featuring 16 teams from around the globe, runs from January 18th to February 2nd 2025.

This World Cup represents a fantastic opportunity for these young players to showcase their skills on the international stage and gain invaluable experience.
