Which school did you go to?
Priestlands School
What subjects do you study?
English Literature, History (Modern), Drama and Theatre Studies, Japanese GCSE
What influenced your decision to come to Barton Peveril?
“At Open Evenings, the College campus stood out as one of the most university-like amongst my prospective colleges. The availability of Japanese, and the praise that my secondary school Drama teacher gave the Performing Arts department also influenced my decision.”
What are your plans for when you leave Barton Peveril?
“My plan is to study Japanese at a top university, spending one year in Japan during my course. I would like to become either an English teacher in Japan or perhaps a Literary Translator or Television Translator. Barton Peveril’s Aspire programme gives me the help and support to reach my goals, and the Careers team worked hard to show me all the opportunities available before I made my choice to pursue Japanese.”
What do you think about the campus and its facilities?
“The food at College is delicious and affordable, with places to buy food and drink throughout campus. As I live outside of the bus catchment area, I take the train each day to College and I can safely say that walking through the nearby park is the best way to start my days off!”
