First Year Musical Theatre students delivered two community workshops as part of their Commissioning Unit Project. A fantastic way for students to display their skills in both educational and inclusive settings.
The students led engaging dance and singing workshops at Stoneham Park Primary School, working with enthusiastic Year 1 and Year 4 pupils and tailoring their workshops to complement the Fairytales theme on their curriculum. Staff at Stoneham Park were full of praise for the workshops, describing them as “fun, engaging, and inspiring.” Our students were commended for their ability to adapt their teaching to suit younger learners.

The students then delivered a workshop at Pavilion on the Park, working with the One4All Drama Group – an adult group for participants with learning differences. This session showcased the students’ versatility and professionalism as they led accessible and inclusive performance activities with confidence, sensitivity, and enthusiasm.
Pavilion on the Park has already invited the group to return next month.
“These workshops have been an incredible demonstration of what our learners can achieve,” said Lisa Fernandez-Adams, Subject Leader for Musical Theatre. “Our students have shown maturity, compassion, and creativity beyond their years, representing the college with kindness and integrity. We are immensely proud of their achievements.”
The sessions, which formed part of a six-week unit exploring performance commissioning, provided an invaluable opportunity for our students to apply theoretical learning in a hands-on, practical context.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to our partner venues, the staff and participants at Stoneham Park Primary and Pavilion on the Park, and to the parents and guardians who continue to support our students in their learning journeys.
