Barton Peveril’s Art and Media students have made creative contributions to the new public art installations planned for Eastleigh Town Centre, through their involvement in the Council’s Together We Make Eastleigh (TWME) project.
The collaboration saw students participate in a practical workshop led by resident artists Nathan Evans and Sophie Rawlingson, conducting detailed research on key Eastleigh themes, and ultimately creating their own unique designs and motifs.

The designs and creative input generated by the students will be used to inspire the final mural and brand illustrations. These public realm improvements are slated for two prominent locations: the alleyway running from Costa at Market Street to Iceland on High Street, and a section of the wall at the Mitchell Road Car Park facing Regal Walk. The artwork will also complement the new brand identity developed for partners to promote Eastleigh Town Centre.
Principal Rob Temple, commented “We are delighted our students had the opportunity to collaborate on the Together We Make Eastleigh project. This initiative provided our Art and Media students with invaluable, real-world experience – as understanding the opportunities and compromises involved in working for a client will only enhance their employability skills and help them develop as artists.”
The TWME project, guided by Wayne Hemingway MBE and Urban Movement, is an important partnership funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It is supported by Eastleigh Town Council, Eastleigh BID, and Hampshire County Council, aiming to shape a more vibrant and engaging future for the Town Centre.
