Wear Red Day

Students and staff at Barton Peveril College proudly wore red on Friday 17th October in support of Show Racism the Red Card: Wear Red Day.

Show Racism the Red Card is the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charity. The charity continues to utilise the high-profile status of football and football players to help tackle racism in society. The campaign’s work involves delivering educational workshops to young people and adults in schools, workplaces and other events.

ED&I Coordinator, Lisa Fernandez-Adams commented, “We believe strongly in equality and respect for all, and our college is proud to stand united against racism. Wear Red Day is a simple yet powerful way for our community to show solidarity with Show Racism the Red Card and contribute to their essential work in schools and communities nationwide.”

Throughout the day, student ambassadors were out across the campus, handing out ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ badges to all students as a symbol of their commitment to the anti-racism cause.
